Consistency was the word to describe the Turihaua Angus bull sale last night with an outstanding lineup of commercial cattle that further enhanced the stud's reputation.

The stud presented 66 lots and 63 sold for a very healthy $10,357 average.

Prices ranged from a top price of $15,500 to $4500, with 35 of the 63 selling for five figures.

Auctioneer Neville Clark declared at the end, “it's been a wonderful sale”, and he was right.

“It was very consistent, with a lot of bulls making good value, showing the strength and consistency of this herd.

“They were an excellent lineup of Turihaua cattle.”

Former auctioneer Bruce Orr said it was a very strong sale throughout.

“It was tremendously well supported by commercial farmers.”

In his comments afterwards stud manager Paul Williams thanked the bidders and underbidders for their support.

“It's been another good sale for us and it was good to see some good buying down the back end of the catalogue.

“Phew, I'm glad it's over though. It's always nice to get the sale out of the way. There is always a huge build up to it.”

Paul said he was “totally rapt” with the sale average.

“The consistency was incredible, right the way through.

“This was a good commercial sale, and that's what we're after at Turihaua.”
